Radio Shakeup: Tracy Villaume's New Gig & Dylan Ayer's Rock Move (2026)

Tracy Villaume Joins Star Radio Saratoga; Dylan Ayer Moves To WABY

The radio airwaves of the Capital Region are buzzing with some exciting changes as Tracy Villaume and Dylan Ayer take on new roles at Star Radio Saratoga and WABY, respectively.

A Familiar Face Returns

Tracy Villaume, a familiar name to Capital Region listeners, is rejoining the airwaves at Star Radio Saratoga. Villaume previously worked at iHeart Albany, where she hosted mornings on WRVE and served as a news anchor and reporter for WGY and WGY-FM. Her departure from WRVE was bittersweet, as she was let go as part of iHeart's national cuts, but she found a new home at Star Radio.

Villaume's connection to Star Radio Saratoga is personal and professional. She expressed her excitement, stating, "Star Saratoga has always felt like home to me because it’s the music I grew up with and the kind of station I’ve always loved listening to. I’m excited to be part of a team that feels so connected to the community, and I can’t wait to spend my afternoons on the air talking with listeners about the songs, the memories, and the everyday life we all share."

Loud Media owner Aaron Ishmael praised Villaume's addition to the team, highlighting her personality, experience, and genuine connection to the community. He believes that her presence will strengthen Star Radio Saratoga's already strong foundation.

Rocking the Midday Shift

Meanwhile, Dylan Ayer is moving to the mid-morning slot at WABY, a rock radio station. Ayer's career has been deeply rooted in rock radio, with stops at various stations across the country, including KEDJ, KMLE, KZON, KUPD, KQXR, KJOT, KMHK, and remote tracking roles. She brings her expertise and passion for rock music to her new role at WABY.

Ayer expressed her enthusiasm, saying, "It’s small talk for grown-ups who like to rock. I’ve spent a lot of my career around rock radio, so getting to hang out every day with people who love this music as much as I do feels pretty natural. We’ll talk about the music, life, whatever weirdness happens that day, and probably some things we shouldn’t. Also, I apologize in advance for the fart machine."

Star Radio Brand Manager Eric Woodhouse praised the strategic move, stating that it fits perfectly. He believes that Villaume's personality and Ayer's rock radio background will shine at their respective stations, creating a harmonious and engaging listening experience for the Capital Region audience.
